O&M Technician III

Position Purpose: Perform a variety of skilled/unskilled work in the operation, maintenance, and grounds keeping of the Lake Gaston Water Supply Project.Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Safely operate lawn mowers (riding zero turn), bush hogging (Tractor Operator), weed eater, and other small hand/power tools.Troubleshoot, Repair and maintain equipment.Responsible for H&S training for project team.Assist Project Manager with administration responsibility.Thorough knowledge of health and safety standards and precautions pertaining to utilities operations and maintenance procedures.Strong desire to establish and maintain effective working relationships, teams, and work groups with other employees, contractors and the general public.Strong ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and effectively communicate with others.Monitors all charts, gauges, SCADA and other operating equipment.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however limited exposure to higher noise level (within OSHA standards) may occur.
