Minimum clearance required to start - Active Secret Clearance. US Citizenship is required. This is a HYBRID role (on-site in Williamsburg, VA 3 days a week and working from home "remote-telework" 2 days a week).The (cleared) Buyer I is responsible for procurement of materials, components, supplies and/or services for the company in accordance with Procurement procedures, contract requirements and federal acquisition regulations.Essential Responsibilities:

Establishes source of supply, negotiates price, delivery date, and other necessary commitments based upon authorized requisition and compliance with company policies and federal regulations.

Provides information to requester that includes communication of procurement actions or status and assist with special requirements.

Adheres to Procurement procedures to assure follow-up and administration of purchase order and subcontract files.

Coordinates requisition requirements with requester.

Assists in the preparation of Procurement centered reports.

Contacts suppliers, secures bids and executes purchase orders in accordance with DI procedures.

Review of supplier pricing or proposals to determine procurement award in accordance with source selection procedures.

Negotiate price, delivery, and terms with suppliers.

Makes procurement decisions based on best value, price, schedule and terms.

Provides pricing in support of Business Development efforts as required.

Maintains procurement records in accordance with procedures.

Supports the goals and objectives of the company as a part of a work group or team member.

Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments and cancellations.

Interacts with A/P to assist and ensure completion of purchase order/invoice processing cycle.

Responsible for compliance of procurement procedures in maintaining an approved Purchasing system.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

0-2 years of business experience with a Bachelor’s degree; buyer/procurement experience is preferred.

Two (2) years of experience in procurement or related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.

Government procurement experience is desirable.

US Citizenship.

Active Secret

HYBRID role (must work on-site and remote-telework). Minimum on-site 2 days a week but our team thinks you may be on-site 3 days a week to start.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Good analytical skills.

Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Applications.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate with suppliers.

Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) preferred.

Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness; must possess planning/organizing skills and be able to work under deadlines.
