Bellewood Farms is the premiere apple farm located between Bellingham and Lynden. We operate a distillery, farmstore, and cafe, serving up our tasty products to the community. We need a Baker to join our small kitchen team for 20-30 hours a week—the candidate should love baking and match our core values of humility, innovation, and excellence. Job Description

Summary: This position supports Bellewood’s retail cafe by preparing sweet and savory baked goods for sale to customers—such as breads, cakes, cookies, pies, and pastries, as well as preparing our take & bake pot pies and quiches.

Reports to: Head Chef

Working relationships: Bellewood Managers, Line Cooks, Servers, Vendors, Bellewood Food Processing team

Responsibilities include:

Preparing: Setting up the workstation, measuring and weighing ingredients, and using appliances and equipment to blend and mix ingredients

Kneading and shaping: Kneading, rolling, cutting, and shaping dough

Baking: Preparing and filling pans, molds, or baking sheets, setting oven temperatures, and placing items into the oven

Monitoring: Monitoring the baking process and adjusting the oven temperature or item positioning as needed

Creating: Creating new recipes and closely following existing ones

Decorating: Decorating baked goods, such as pies and cookies

Presenting: Display bakery goods in a way that enhances our offering

Storing: Ensuring the proper storage and refrigeration of baked goods

Cleaning: Cleaning, breaking down, and putting away all baking equipment

Ordering: Request needed supplies.

Following protocols: Adhering to all food quality and safety protocols

Baker may also need to be able to interact effectively with guests, team members, and managers. They may also need to be able to stand, climb, stoop, push, and crouch for extended periods of time.

Hours:

20-30 hours a week. Other hours are very flexible. There may be more opportunities to work additional hours in other capacities if interested.
