As a technical support representative you will take incoming technical calls and emails from internet, voice, and TV customers. Listen, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for voice, internet or data installation and connection issues. You may remotely configure and troubleshoot client's equipment or simply educate customers. In the event the issue cannot be resolved, you would escalate the call to the next tier of support or arrange dates, times & access arrangements for a service call. You’ll utilize several databases to record the results of your interactions.
Job Duties:
Monitor and respond to customer support tickets and questions via email and phone
Troubleshoot common issues regarding internet connectivity, business VoIP phone configuration, and cable TV signal quality issues
Assist field technicians provisioning and decommissioning customer premise equipment, including assigning IP addresses, adding BGP and OSPF statements, updating DNS entries, updating VoIP handset configurations, and updating regional router configurations
Update premise, site, and regional router configurations
Create and Assign Service Calls and update Field Technician schedules as necessary
Review and maintain network and CRM documentation
Participate in On-Call and after-hours rotation schedule
Other tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager, or management
Core Skills:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
A desire to help people
Moderate networking knowledge, including Layer 2 & 3 routing, VLAN's, DHCP, Radius and DNS
Knowledge of Windows, Macintosh and Linux Systems
Knowledge of VoIP systems
Knowledge of Email protocols and various Email Clients
Excellent trouble shooting skills
Solid understanding of general IT concepts
2 year degree technical degree or equivalent experience preferred

Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting and physical handling of heavy objects (approx. 50-100 lbs.) and materials, or heavy hand tools.
