This role is on the RF Software/Firmware team. Our team provides tools, applications, device drivers, and all other software and firmware to support wireless technologies, including WiFi, Bluetooth, LTE/5G, and GPS. The specific development role is to support WiFi/BT design/development/manufacturing across the product line, including:
- Debugging Windows WiFi/BT drivers, including functionality, performance, and power consumption issues.
- WiFi/BT provisioning, calibration, verification, radiated testing, and functional testing.
- Building new WiFi/BT manufacturing tools for future Surface products based on chip technology from third-party vendors.
- Investigating manufacturing issues, with a goal toward eliminating process errors, reducing manufacturing time, and increasing yield.
- International travel on occasion to assist in bringing up new production lines.
- Visual Studio development environment
- Microsoft Windows Kernel Debugger
- Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- GIT source control
- Proprietary third-party WiFi/BT development and manufacturing tools.
- Litepoint test hardware or equivalents.
- A BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- A minimum of two years of experience in WiFi/RF development/debugging.
- A minimum of one year experience developing and debugging Windows device drivers.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Excellent C/C coding skills.
- Experience with Perl, Python, and/or Powershell scripting languages.
- Experience with new hardware bring-up and manufacturing testing environments.
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and self-driven.
- Experience with Intel WLAN/BT chipsets and/or modules.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple time-zones on various disciplines and functions (PM, Test, Hardware Engineers, etc.)
- Familiarity with ASL (ACPI Source Language)
