DescriptionTHE ROLEThe Executive Director of Community Health Investment for the North Division is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, executing, and measuring community benefit efforts across the division. This leader will ensure the team's operations include implementation of growth and retention strategies, daily operations, assuring financial stability, and ensure the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) is completed with appropriate stakeholder engagement. This role will provide programmatic and administrative oversight for community benefit programs in the division, partner with hospitals/service lines for community benefit contracts and grants management, ensuring all community benefit programs are aligned to the community health needs assessment, and ensure all investments are supported by documentation with outcomes evaluated for effectiveness on an on-going basis. This position is responsible for informing and educating Board members and senior leadership about community benefit efforts and outcomes and will be accountable to develop appropriate strategies and approaches for reporting Community Benefit to external community partners. This position will be visible to and will collaborate with community partners and community stakeholders, and will participate in collaboratives to ensure alignment with system strategies.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of the strategic business plan for Community Health Investment within the North Division. Evaluates performance improvement opportunities and works with Division and Service Area leadership to direct tactical corrections.

Provides direction and is accountable for the effective operation of Community Health Investment within the North Division.

Determines and implements the organizational structure required to direct and manage Community Health Investment within the larger Providence enterprise context in a manner that is cost effective and maximizes the use of shared resources and services.

With the Chief State Government Affairs and Community Health Officer, North Division, establishes success indicators and objectives consistent with senior leadership in support of the Providence Mission. Develops operating budgets as appropriate.

With support of the Division and Service Area CFOs. monitors and evaluates key financial indicators and develops initiatives to assure the financial stability of Community Health Investment.

Works with the Chief State Government Affairs and Community Health Officer, North Division and Providence legal department to assure operating divisions are in compliance with all applicable laws and governing agencies.

Establish positive working relationships with key provider groups and contracting entities; and works closely with senior physician and administrative leadership and community partners.

Maintain a cost effective and quality driven population health construct that meets the Vision and objectives of senior leadership.

Ensure the growth, strength and stability Community Health Investment Programs and meets regulatory criteria for Community Health Investment.

Ensure that key operating systems are updated and provide state of the art performance and nurture community partnerships.

Maintain a competitive administrative cost structure while ensuring best in class service performance.

Drive performance across with different key partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, Public Administration required

Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, Public Administration (preferred)

10 or more years of progressively increasing responsibility in management level (project and/or people) experience with specific facilitation, performance improvement, problem solving, and project management experience of complex, multi-regional, strategically important initiatives. Demonstrated experience and success in leading cross-functional and virtual teams. Demonstrated experience working in large and complex organizations, as well as working across diverse constituencies and geographies.

8 years of experience in healthcare operations for an understanding of the nature of the work performed

2 years of experience in change management, facilitation, and process improvement methodologies with substantial project management experience of complex, multi-regional, strategically important initiatives

2 year’s history of developing high-performing teams and continuously improving department operations.

2 years of experience in working across diverse and stressed institutions, in settings of limited resources.

2 years of experience in leading learning and improvement collaboratives or other large scale improvement initiatives (such as Breakthrough Collaboratives) (preferred)

Demonstrated planning and program/project management skills.

Proven ability to set business strategy.

Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical skills.
