Possible hybrid Schedule 1-2x a week DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Radiology Services at Harborview Medical Center offers a full complement of radiology tests and imaging procedures, including nuclear medicine and interventional radiology (angiography). Many modalities have same-day and next-day availability.All of UW Medicine’s radiologists are board-certified and sub-specialized in a variety of areas such as neuroradiology, body radiology, interventional radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography, chest radiology and more. Imaging findings are integrated with all clinical data to generate comprehensive and actionable patient assessments.Reports and images seamlessly integrate with your UW Medicine electronic medical record (MyChart) and are available to you and your care provider shortly after the exam has been completed. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership Responsibilities

Resolve problems that arise daily within the department during assigned shift.

Check work of others for accuracy and productivity.

Assign, train, and represent supervisors during their absence.

Prepare and create reports for management use.

Requisition minor supplies and maintain records. Release of Information (ROI)

Monitor and process ROI releases in the Epic ROI work queues.

Review ROI requests and determine valid authorization and releasable records.

Disclose protected health information (PHI) to patients, providers, attorneys, and other authorized parties. Teleradiology / Film Library Management

Monitor communication systems for incoming electronic image transfers of medical imaging.

Process the intake of external medical imaging and reports from referring hospitals and clinics into the UW Medicine EMR and Radiology PACS.

Coordinate with UW Medicine Transfer Center, Harborview Medical Center clinics, and outside hospitals and clinics to transfer medical imaging and records.

Reconcile and merge external patient records to the UW Medicine EMR.

Schedule and process requests for second-opinion interpretations of outside medical imaging sent to UW Medicine. Radiology Clinical Unit Support and Reading Room Assistant

Point-of-care: schedule imaging orders for Radiology patients and hospital inpatients.

Review clinical indications in imaging orders to ensure appropriate documentation of medical necessity.

Monitor communications systems (Epic worklists, work queues, phone, radio, fax, pager, overhead PA) for incoming imaging orders.

Obtain patient demographics and clinical indications for the processing and scheduling of verbal bedside orders.

Point-of-contact for radiologists, radiologic technologists, hospitalists.

Other duties as requested REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Three years of Patient Support Service experience OR
