We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing trailers to ensure they are in optimal working condition. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our transportation fleet.
Job Requirements
-Conduct routine inspections of trailers to identify and address any maintenance or repair needed.
-Diagnose and repair equipment, mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic issues in trailers.
-Repair and replace all defective parts.
-Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure trailers meet safety and performance standards.
-Preventative service truck and yard truck maintenance.
-Road calls for driver assistance.
-Inspect brake systems, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
-Use handtools- such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, or precision instruments, as well as power tools, such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, or jacks and hoists.
-Adjust brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
-Perform related electrical & general repairs.
-Maintain safety and cleanliness of workshop.
-Routine trailer inspections.
-Light repairs to company owned vehicles.
-Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
-Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and complete work efficiently.
-Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
-Complete all other tasks, duties, and errands assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
-Must be organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task and work well under stressful situations
-Written and oral communications skills
-Own and use of own tools
-Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
