Mill-Turn CNC Machinist / Programmer

As Hummingbird Scientific continues to expand its business, we are increasing our precision machine shop’s manufacturing capabilities. As such, we are looking to add a Mill-Turn CNC Machinist/Programmer to our manufacturing team.

Our machinists work in a state-of-the-art facility alongside the designers, assemblers, and inspectors that comprise our microscopy product manufacturing and production efforts.

Are you a skilled Mill Turn CNC Machinist seeking an exciting opportunity that goes beyond repetitive loading and unloading tasks? Look no further! We typically handle short runs of 5 to 10 parts – no large production runs – with a significant focus on programming and prototyping.

Relocation assistance available.

Key Qualifications:

Journeyman-level machinist skills

CNC Mill and Turn experience

CAD/CAM programming (Mastercam or equivalent)

Experience with Fanuc controls

Experience with inspection tools, preferably video CMM or probe CMM

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Education and Experience:

5+ years of professional experience in CNC machining – preferably turning

Associate degree in machine tool technology desired.

Optional Qualifications:

Self-directed and execution-focused

Tool making and fixture design

Compensation: Hummingbird Scientific offers a generous compensation package based on experience and demonstrated capabilities. Benefits include paid vacation, holidays, sick time, medical, vision and dental benefits with company sponsored HSA, as well as a company 401(k) plan.

Salary starts at $32+ per hour, final compensation depends on experience.
