Hama Hama is looking for a Plant Operations Lead. This position is the point person for our fulfillment and delivery teams, and keeps our wholesale food production facility in Lilliwaup running smoothly and safely. They direct the daily workflow, run meetings, and manage staff. Shipping / receiving, sanitation, and compliance all fall under their wheelhouse. Every day is a slightly different adventure, which makes this a dynamic position. Successful candidates will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and be tech savvy but also competent on a forklift.

Family owned and operated for six generations, we’re a shellfish and timber farm located on the eastern slopes of the Olympic Peninsula. Our mission is pretty simple: use low impact farming methods to grow world-class oysters and trees, have fun, and leave something good for those who will come after us.

Responsibilities include:

Oversee daily wholesale operations for our facility in Lilliwaup to ensure efficiency and effectiveness; this includes staff management, order fulfillment, shipping & receiving, and sanitation

Ensure compliance with food and safety regulations

Manage facilities, ensuring critical infrastructure is functional and well maintained

Manage wholesale inventory, including PPE and packaging supplies

Skills we’re looking for:

Organized and able to follow through on projects and paperwork, with strong delegation and time management skills.

Able to give feedback quickly, kindly, and in a way that inspires people to keep learning and improving

Previous management or leadership experience

Comfort with technology, internet, and accounting systems

Comfort overseeing facilities (electrical, HVAC, pumps, etc) troubleshooting first and elevating issues as needed

Able to pass a forklift certification exam

Comfort in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment

Skills we’re interested in:

Previous experience in the shellfish or sanitation industries

Creative problem solving abilities

Previous experience developing systems and managing logistics and infrastructure

Spanish language skills

This is a full-time, in-person position. Expected hours of work are Monday - Friday, 8 am to 4:30. Compensation range is $28 to $30 per hour plus production bonus.
