Job Description: Courier/Driver that picks-up environmental testing samples daily from client’s facilities (Pierce, King & Kitsap Counties) and delivers them to the employer’s laboratories in Fife, Tukwila and/or Poulsbo for testing. Between client pickups and deliveries, couriers will shuttle samples daily between the employer’s three laboratory locations (Fife, Tukwila and Poulsbo). Courier provides his/her own vehicle.
- Looking to fill 1 Part-Time Position – Working out of Fife, WA
- 1 position working between 16 - 19 hours per week (Monday – Thursday)
Compensation: $16.66 per hour for time worked (State minimum wage), plus $0.552 per mile driven - mileage reimbursement to cover the use of the employee’s car, gasoline, vehicle maintenance and other costs of operating the employee’s vehicle.
Based on the expected hours, the estimated wages @ 17 hours per week could average $1,230.00 per month, and based on the scheduled miles driven each week, the estimated mileage reimbursement could average $1,070 per month. Estimated combined hourly wage and mileage reimbursement could average $2,300.00 per month.
These are only estimates; actual hours worked and miles driven will determine actual compensation. Bridge tolls fees will be reimbursed to the driver at a rate of $4.50 per crossing (a Good-to-Go Toll Bridge Pass is required).
Courier Duties & Requirements:
Courier’s automobile must be in good working order and acceptable in appearance.
Courier must have and maintain a current and valid Washington State driver’s license and car registration.
Courier must have and maintain acceptable auto insurance with liability, property damage, bodily injury and uninsured motorist coverage.
Courier must have a satisfactory driving record (minor, infrequent traffic infractions), but no DUI, frequent or major infractions.
Courier will not drive under the influence of any substance that would cause impairment and will obey all traffic laws.
Courier will be prompt with regard to established pickup and delivery times, and be reliable in attendance and job performance.
Courier will perform his/her duties in a professional manner and will maintain a professional appearance.
Courier’s place of residence should be in the greater Pierce or Kitsap County, WA area to be in close proximity to the first client pick-up.
Reports to the Laboratory In-Take Coordinator at our Fife Office Location.
Experience:
Previous experience as a commercial courier, driver, or delivery person desired, but not required.
Education:
High school graduate or GED preferred but not required.
