Local construction company looking for qualified and experienced Carpenters to join our team. We primarily build outdoor living spaces including open and covered decks, railings, pergolas, and fences. The position would be under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and work in conjunction with the Production Manager. The ideal candidate has a clean driving record, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in framing, installation of wood and composite decking materials, some concrete finishing and other specialties. Must be able to read blueprints and sketches and provide direction to team members to pour and install footings, layout and install decking and railing, and construct finished product. Wage is $25 to $40/hour dependent on experience. Benefits include paid holidays with 401k match, medical insurance, and paid vacation upon completion of probationary period.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform all duties assigned by the Project Manager and Production Manager
Supervise field crew and ensure all materials for each job are procured.
Must be able to carry a minimum of 60 lbs
Ensure trucks and materials are available for each job each day.
Maintain equipment.
Ability to read blueprints, drawing, and sketches, grasp requirements, and lay out assemblies.
Cut and shape lumber and composite decking according to measurements.
Calculate and build staircases, layout foundations and frame buildings with raw materials and pre-constructed items.
Ability to work with 1-3 other team members and occasional subcontractors in cooperation with company owners and Lead/Master Carpenter (who may be you) to lead a team of 1 to 3 people with good communication, clear instructions, and a willingness to mentor others.
Qualifications and Skills:
3 years minimum carpentry experience. Proven experience as carpenter, exposure to many trades
Willingness to learn and work in all weather conditions.
Clean driving record with reliable transportation and attendance
Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills
Aptitude for problem solving and attention to detail.
Pleasant to be around, presentable to clients of diverse intellectual, cultural, and financial backgrounds.
Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammer, tape measure, squares, etc.)
Ability to read or learn how to read technical documents and drawings.
Good understanding of basic math
Knowledgeable all around in life, human interaction
Passionate learner and go getter, willing to both teach what you know and learn more
Able to lift, move, carry most common building materials on various surfaces, slopes and heights to complete installation at market pace
