Position Summary

The Excavation Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for excavation and site development projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, clients, and field crews to ensure projects are properly scoped and priced.

Key Responsibilities

Review project plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports.

Perform accurate takeoffs and cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.

Prepare and submit bid proposals in a timely manner.

Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.

Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.

Collaborate with project management and field teams to ensure a seamless project handoff.

Track bid performance and maintain estimation records.

Requirements

Proven experience as an estimator in excavation, civil construction, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of site work, grading, trenching, and utility installation.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.

Proficiency in Procore, Excel, Contractor Foreman

Excellent math, analytical, and communication skills.

Self-motivated, organized, and deadline-oriented.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of estimating experience in excavation or heavy civil construction.

Background in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.

Familiarity with local codes, permitting, and environmental regulations.
