AECOM's Roanoke, VA office is hiring an Electrical Engineering Manager to work on various designs of high-performance buildings within multiple sectors including Corporate Workplace and Commercial buildings, Federal Civilian and DoD, Healthcare, Mission Critical, Justice, and Higher Education projects.Relocation AvailableThis role will be an integral part of the AECOM's B+P Practice, we are seeing individuals with a passion for people management, technical expertise and interest in marketing and business development.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:Performs various management and leadership responsibilities for the Electrical Engineering Department. Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.Requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering. Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of a subject area, the definition of scope, and the selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field.Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.Supervises a group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.Acts as a Senior Engineer leading the design and engineering efforts for various projects.Assist in business development activitiesAssist in proposal preparation in conjunction with the senior leadership of the officeWriting reports for internal and external purposes based on findingsWorks cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company's missionEnsures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for project scope and scheduleStays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical and fire alarm disciplinesEnsures conformance with standards, established design practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and constructionDevelops designs within a BIM design environmentReview junior team member's work for quality and recognition of training requirementsLead junior engineers in engineering design development and professional growth
