The Laboratory Technical Assistant participates in the supportive functions of quality control, instrument operation, limited troubleshooting, and limited problem resolution. This individual’s responsibilities will be narrow in scope and limited to a specific group of tests (defined as waived by Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations. Phlebotomy is a large part of this position.Schedule: The lab is open 7am to 7pm M-F and 8am-230 on Sat/Sun. Staff will be working any hours M-F and weekends will be rotated with staff of 4.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred/Optional: Post-high school basic lab techniques, chemistry, biology, or physical science course(s).EXPERIENCEMinimum Required: Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment.Preferred/Optional: Previous laboratory experience. Demonstrated experience with Laboratory Information Systems. One year phlebotomy experience with venipuncture and capillary puncture. Knowledge of medical terminology or exposure to a medical environment.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESThe following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.
