We are seeking skilled Data Center / Cable Technicians to join our IT team. The Technician’s responsibilities include maintaining the data center’s IT system, troubleshooting issues, performing server installations, and ensuring uninterrupted access to network services. The ideal candidate for this role should possess a good understanding of network infrastructure and data center operations.

Responsibilities:

Move servers and switches to required destinations for installation.

Inspect servers and switches to ensure they are not damaged.

Install servers and switches and cable them according to provided wire maps.

Ensure all cables are bundled neatly and in accordance with standards.

Double-check with network admins to ensure everything is cabled correctly and all connections are up.

Install additional components needed (NIC, Drive, Memory).

Assist in unboxing and prepping servers as needed.

Audit servers and consumables.

Troubleshoot a variety of servers and isolate the problem that the server is encountering.

Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.

Temporarily rack and stack a server or switch in a cabinet and cable it so the network admin can remotely log in.

Assist network admins who reach out requesting specific assistance with servers or switches.

Deploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation and functionality.

Perform break-fix tasks, including troubleshooting and replacing faulty components.

Requirements:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.

Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Flexibility to work non-standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays.

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds when necessary.

Ability to safely climb ladders when necessary.

Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly when necessary.

Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility for extended periods without loss or reduction of productivity.

What a typical shift may look like: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, & Every other Wednesday 6a - 6p (12 Hour Shifts)
