Program Manager - ORV SVTJob DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:Overall management of Off-Road Specialty Vehicle Team—(SVT) Programs. Leads technical team responsible for executing the planning, development, validation, and productionizing SVT programs. This includes the appropriate scaling of the Polaris Development and Safety Processes to enable the SVT goals. The role would be a key interface person for product management, the business unit, sourcing, and the broader engineering organization. They would coordinate with the cross functional team to develop product solutions, program costs and schedule, product quality, market research, sourcing and manufacturing plan(s) guided by the “Voice of the Customer”.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishes and manages the ORV SVT plans to support Long Range Product Plan (LRPP) developed with the product planning team.

Coordinates with and utilizes the Polaris technology development process and team along with project management best practices within the team to execute programs.

Plans, conducts, and manages overall SVT projects. Reviews progress and evaluates results relative to defined project charter.

Establishes targets for SVT program costs, part costs, and tool costs. Tracks and reports out on the costs throughout the project.

Coordinates and oversees SVT design, predevelopment, and testing efforts to ensure project objectives are met per schedule and budget.

Continues to develop and execute strategic partnerships necessary to support the SVT strategy.

Report out to product groups, management teams and Polaris’ senior management to keep them abreast of program/project status and their implications using ORV project status and PDP.

Maintains and aligns the PDP and Safety strategy for each SVT project and ensures it aligns with the PDP and Safety guidelines and oversight.

Develops, maintains & manages the SVT plans that align to division’s product strategy and manufacturing and sourcing strategy.

Key member of PDC Team.

Responsible for staff development and transfer of knowledge to team.

Recommends changes, improvements, or deletions for future SVT products.

Participates and can sign off design reviews to ensure adequate input and involvement from all engineering and functional groups.

Signs off at Technology Gate reviews when applicable, major milestones and project status meetings.

Performs other miscellaneous project related assignments.

Participate in customer focus groups and VOC development.

Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

B.S. in Engineering required, MBA preferred.

8+ years previous experience in consumer product engineering, and or project management preferred.

Solid understanding of the design, function and interfaces of powertrains.

Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures to the completion of difficult technical problems and projects.

Creative, innovative, decisive and prone to action.

Quality and customer focused.

Excellent presentation skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Team Player that is able to work well across and up and down the organization including with outside partners when applicable.

Strong professional development and team building skills.
