Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per P&P 40-40.Example of DutiesThis position provides medical billing, coding and collections functions for AHD clinics and clients. This includes collections from individuals, third party insurance carriers, Medicaid and Medicare; also responsible for daily deposits and back-up on reconciliation of cash drawer and client accounts. This position will serve as a subject matter expert on medical coding and billing, cash handling an account reconciliation. Duties will include reviewing client records for coding accuracy, determining the accurate and highest level of coding based on services provided, tracking client data over multiple visits, entering cash receipts into a central enterprise system and maintaining up to date knowledge and information regarding current medical coding systems. This position will work closely with the Nurse Supervisors to identify efficiencies and creative ideas to better enhance client services, service reimbursement and cash management, as well as support with the oversight and management of the Accounts Receivables for the Clinical Services Program. Responsible for training staff on new medical coding and billing policies and electronic medical billing updates / changes.Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / PreferencesHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and two (2) years of accounting experience, one (1) of which must have been at the Accounting Clerk II level with the Municipality, or the equivalent elsewhere. Preferences:
Previous medical office and/or clinical billing experience
Medical Billing & Coding Certification (RHIT, RHIA, CPC or CMPE)
Experience in public health or family planning
MOA DHHS HIPAA confidentiality training within 30 days of hire

A background check encompasses criminal history, verifying education, and verifying dates of employment. Accordingly, it will be necessary for the selected applicant to provide certain identification information and be fingerprinted. Fingerprint cards must be dated within 30 days from date requested. The processing fee of $48.25 plus the cost of being fingerprinted (variable), is the responsibility of the selected applicant and must be accomplished before beginning work. Military Service Interview Preference : Veterans or who wish to be considered for interview preference as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D must attach to the application a copy of their DD Form 214, DD Form 256, NGB Form 22, or a letter from the US Department of Veterans Affairs recognizing the person as a veteran. Proof of current service can be shown by submission of a statement of service which, at a minimum, shows full name, date of birth, Social Security Number, date service began, branch of service, rank, name of command providing the information, and unit of assignment. The statement of service must be on a form or letterhead of the individual’s command organization and show the name, signature, title and contact information for the signer providing the statement of service.
