Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to join our client's growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing either a big data migration project or a cloud migration project, as well as managing a large technical program. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects to ensure that the proposed plan adheres to the timeline, budget, and scope. They will be responsible for planning projects in detail, working with a team of engineers, to understand needs and requirements, setting schedules for all stakeholders, and executing each step of the project. The Technical Project Manager will also be responsible for creating management and communication plans and processes, analyzing and developing procedures for management and technical duties, defining project responsibilities with stakeholders, and participating in how budget and staff are allocated for the project. They will maintain project time frames, budget estimates, and status reports.This role is focused around moving big data platforms (data and big data applications) to GCP, 300 applications. The engineering frameworks have been built out in GCP, and the project is now focused on the application migration piece. This role will work directly with technical engineering teams, as well as application teams, to prioritize their movement and the delivery of that movement to the Cloud. You'll work with 3-5 application teams at any given time and report status updates to leadership.This role will review, what is the architecture today? If we move this to GCP, how is that architecture going to change? What are the patterns around this application, is there any modernization that we want to do?
