Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated 2nd shift Reach Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating reach forklifts and other heavy equipment to efficiently load, unload, and organize materials within our distribution center. Your expertise will ensure safe, accurate, and timely handling of goods, support overall warehouse operations and maintain high standards of safety and productivity. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Shift: 11am-finish
Duties
- Operate reach forklifts and other heavy equipment such as clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes to load and unload shipments safely and efficiently.
- Perform order picking using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders accurately.
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
-Handle materials with care, including heavy lifting tasks, ensuring proper stacking and storage in designated warehouse areas.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly and perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and other machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by adhering to OSHA safety standards and warehouse protocols.
- Support inventory management through inventory records in the warehouse management system.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize space utilization and improve workflow efficiency.
- Assist with shipping & receiving processes by preparing goods for dispatch or receipt, ensuring proper documentation is completed.
Experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience operating reach forklifts within a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Proficiency with warehouse distribution processes, order picking, and materials handling techniques.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and forklift trucks.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for order picking and inventory control.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment use.
- Previous experience in shipping & receiving procedures, including load & unload activities.
- Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor equipment issues independently.
- Experience working in construction or industrial settings involving heavy lifting or materials handling is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
