Position Overview

A DTF Printer Service Technician at CobraFlex Printers LLC is responsible for the support of after installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing systems and associated machinery. This role ensures CobraFlex customers receive the highest level of technical support, equipment performance, and reliability. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with deep mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Calibration:

Professionally support install, configure, and calibrate new CobraFlex DTF printers and peripheral systems (e.g., shakers, ovens, heat presses, curing units).

Maintenance & Repair:

Perform with customers routine preventive maintenance, mechanical adjustments, and emergency off site repairs to ensure consistent uptime and print quality. Tasks include print head cleaning, ink line flushing, and replacement of consumable parts such as dampers, pumps, and capping assemblies.

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:

Identify and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues affecting printer performance—including RIP software configuration, static interference, ink flow, and motion system errors.

Technical Support:

Provide professional customer support remotely (phone, email, video) and on-site when required. Maintain communication logs and service documentation in the company’s ticketing system.

Inventory & Documentation:

Maintain accurate parts inventory and service records. Submit detailed service reports, diagnostic summaries, and recommendations for future maintenance or upgrades.

Training & Education:

Conduct end-user training sessions on proper printer operation, daily/weekly maintenance, and best practices for workflow optimization and print quality assurance.

Quality Control Collaboration:

Work closely with internal production and R&D teams to ensure equipment meets CobraFlex’s performance standards and customer expectations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience:

3–5 years of experience servicing large-format digital printing systems, preferably with DTF, UV, DTG, or solvent-based printers.

Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding of print heads (Epson i3200 or similar), ink delivery systems, motion control, and color management workflows.

Analytical Skills:

Ability to diagnose complex hardware/software issues quickly and efficiently.

Software Knowledge:

Familiarity with RIP software (e.g., NeoStampa, Flexi, Cadlink) and graphic design programs (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).

Soft Skills:

Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a production or warehouse environment.

Education & Certifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

Associate’s degree or certification in electronics, mechatronics, or related field preferred.
