Apply Today!    Where You Will Work   In operation since 2007, Safford operations is a zero-discharge facility and one of the most sustainable mines in the United States. The operation’s commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. Located in southeastern Arizona, close to more than 4 million acres of national forest, employees and their families can connect with the great outdoors while fishing, rafting, hiking and more. Several educational institutions also are nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology.  DescriptionUnder general supervision, supervises, coordinates and controls the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit through subordinate supervisors.

Ensures continued operations of production shifts through execution of the production plan and schedules

Provides operations input for production and maintenance planning

Ensures adherence to correct safety and operating procedures and compliance with appropriated federal and state laws and regulations

Inspects assigned work units to ensure schedules and objectives are attained

Coordinates daily with other operational and staff areas including, but not limited to: maintenance, processing, engineering, safety, environmental, and sales

Directly supervises first-line or shift supervisors

Performs other duties as required

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED and nine (9) years professional experience in accounting, including two (2) years in prolong intellectual instruction (certifications, instructed training, OR on the job training, etc) in Accounting or Finance; OR

Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related area and seven (7) years professional experience in accounting; OR

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related area, AND five (5) years of related Accounting experience, including supervisory or lead experience; OR

Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related area, AND three (3) years of related Accounting experience, including supervisory or lead experience

Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques

Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects

Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administration

Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field

Experience with project and fixed asset accounting

Intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel

Experience with business writing

High level of organization and attention to detail

Criteria/Conditions

Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English

Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see

Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 30 pounds) during the course of the workday

Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

What We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently  $87,000 - $121,000.  This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
