Description We are in search of a detail-oriented and proficient Medical Billing Clerk for our client in the Behavioral Health industry. This contract-to-hire position will primarily involve managing patient bills, implementing reimbursements, maintaining billing records, and working as a vital part of the financial team.Key Responsibilities:
Submitting accurate and timely medical claims to insurance companies.
Checking the status of claims and resolving any identified issues.
Keeping track of denied claims and making all necessary corrections for claim re-submission.
Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness.
Processing invoices for payment in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
Following up with patients on unpaid amounts and setting up payment plans.
Maintaining patient confidentiality according to the highest ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
Regularly communicating with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to address any discrepancies.
Requirements
High School Diploma/ GED, and post-secondary degree or certification in medical billing or related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a Medical Billing Clerk or similar role in the healthcare sector.
Knowledge of billing procedures, insurance policies, and claim appeals.
Proficient in handling confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Strong proficiency in medical billing software and MS Office.
Ability to effectively multitask, plan, organize and prioritize work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Strong follow-up skills, dependable, and adaptable to working with different patients/therapists
