Your responsibilities as a Lead Teacher

As a KIPP Delta Teacher, your core responsibilities include:
Curriculum Development and InstructionAdapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculumDevelop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics and assessmentsUse data to inform instructional decisionsProvide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needsHelp Build a Positive School and Classroom CultureEmbody and maintain school’s values, policies and cultureDevelop positive relationships with students, families, teachers and staffEstablish and maintain strong communication with all parents and share progressShow up for critical school events, including: staff meetings, open houses, parent teacher conferences and moreDemonstrate a Growth MindsetPursue challenging professional goals each yearGive and receive positive and constructive feedback with your colleaguesParticipate in school-wide and individual professional developmentEducational Equity and InclusionSupport the KIPP Delta Public Schools vision for academic excellence and critical consciousness, so that our students have “access to pursue the path they choose.” Engage with “love, faith, and humility” towards ALL members of our community.Regularly do the foundational work of learning and understanding the original dehumanization of African Americans and how the laws and policies created through this process resulted in systemic racism for the purpose of white supremacy and the cultural rules and norms of white supremacy and anti-blackness.Commit to develop a working knowledge of internalized racism and how and why educated, intelligent and dynamic BIPOC may produce a fear response in both white and other BIPOC peoples and how to respond and support others if/when this phenomenon occurs.Work to ensure students, staff and families of all identity groups are full participants in decisions that shape the school or department.Commit to working with families as equals, co-educators, learners and decision makers.Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Supporting student recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities as neededWrite letters of recommendation for students as needed
