Description We are in search of a meticulous and diligent Accountant for our office in Burlingame, California. The role involves a variety of responsibilities including monthly closing duties, revenue recognition, corporate accounting, and process efficiency improvement. This is a contract employment opportunity in the telecom industry that will allow you to leverage your skills in reporting, account reconciliation, implementation, automation, and more.Key responsibilities: Ensure timely performance of monthly closing duties such as preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and producing and distributing reports. Review and conduct analysis of financial statements, report discrepancies, and assist with monthly account resolutions. Responsible for the accurate and timely recording of corporate accounting transactions. Assist with complex accounting items such as revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and unbilled. Engage in digital transformation initiatives, contributing to testing, analysis, and post-implementation activities. Leverage artificial intelligence and systems automation to enhance accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes. Assist with department-wide projects to improve process efficiency and add value. Display strong communication skills and willingness to aid in a wide variety of requests. Exhibit strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to execute multiple tasks with accuracy. Requirements Possess strong knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Ability to perform ad hoc financial reporting as required Experience with account reconciliation and balance sheet account management Familiarity with ERP Solutions such as Oracle, NetSuite, and Great Plains (GPAC) Skilled in preparing journal entries and monthly financial statements Experience with corporate accounting and monthly closings Demonstrated ability to execute and implement processes Able to reconcile account discrepancies efficiently Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Experience or interest in automation, digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the accounting field Ability to work onsite as required Proficient in using different accounting software and tools.
