Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Downey, California. The role involves managing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and handling month-end processing tasks within our accounts department.Responsibilities: Manage the processing of vendor invoices, ensuring all details align with purchase orders Take responsibility for the invoice approval process for subcontractors and purchased equipment Input invoices accurately into the accounting system for record keeping Handle the copying and filing of invoices to maintain organized records Oversee the costs posting into the accounting system for stock requests Review vendor statements regularly to ensure accuracy Manage the process of payment status emails to keep all parties updated Handle month-end processing tasks to close off accounting periods efficiently. Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and systems Demonstrable experience in an Accounts Payable role Excellent attention to detail and ability to process invoices accurately Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Working knowledge of any major accounting software Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify discrepancies Understanding of financial regulations and legislation Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
