Description The Bookkeeper will manage and maintain accurate financial records for our clients non-profit organization. This role involves recording all financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing crucial support to the Finance Manager and other departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles, attention to detail, and a commitment to our organization’s mission.Key Responsibilities:

Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow management.

Payroll Processing: Assist in processing payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Grant Management: Track and report on the financial aspects of grants and restricted funds, ensuring compliance with donor restrictions and funding requirements.

Budget Assistance: Support the preparation of annual budgets and monthly financial statements.

Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly financial reports to the Finance Manager and Board of Directors.

Audit Preparation: Assist with annual audits by providing necessary documentation and financial reports.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal controls.

Expense Tracking: Monitor and track all organizational expenses, ensuring they align with the budget.

Donor Records Management: Maintain accurate records of donations and donor information, including issuing donation receipts.

General Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed, including filing, answering phones, and responding to emails.

Requirements

Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.

Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Knowledge: Familiarity with non-profit accounting standards (GAAP), including fund accounting and grant management.
