Description Job Summary:X School District (IUSD) is seeking a skilled Payroll Contractor to support the transition from our current HRIS to a Human Capital Management (HCM) system, impacting payroll, time attendance, and the integration of the BEST (Business Enhancement System Transformation) and Frontline systems. The ideal candidate has recent experience (within the last two years) working with school districts or county education offices using the BEST system and Frontline for payroll and timekeeping.Pay Rate: $25-45 depending on direct experience with BESTKey Responsibilities:

Assist in the payroll processing during the transition from HRIS to HCM, ensuring accuracy and compliance with district policies and state regulations.

Provide expertise and hands-on support for the BEST and Frontline systems, particularly in the areas of payroll and time attendance.

Collaborate with HR, IT, and finance departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes into the new HCM system.

Train district staff on the functionality and usage of the new payroll and time attendance systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues related to the system transition.

Perform regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Generate and review payroll reports to verify correct payroll deductions, withholdings, and payments.

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal payroll policies and procedures.

Support end-users during the transition phase by providing technical assistance, answering questions, and escalating issues when necessary.

Stay updated on any system changes or updates related to the BEST and Frontline systems.

Duration:This is a temporary contract position for the duration of the system transition, with the potential for extension based on project needs.Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience working with payroll systems in a school district or county office of education, particularly with the BEST system and Frontline.

Technical Skills: Proficient in payroll systems, timekeeping, and HCM/HRIS systems. Hands-on experience with BEST and Frontline is required.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll regulations, policies, and compliance, particularly within educational institutions.

Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with various departments and train staff.

Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve payroll system issues during the transition.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with system transitions or implementations, specifically from HRIS to HCM systems.

Knowledge of California state payroll regulations and district-specific requirements.
