Hello. I have 2 children who need help with Math tutoring. One is currently in college at UCSD and one is in college at a JC. You will be paid according to what you teach. If you are able to teach both, you will be paid $30/hr when teaching Alg2 material and $45/hr when teaching statistics so it is fair to both parties.
1) Algebra 2 tutor- My son is at Pasadena City College and he is taking Math 115. You can look at their course material online. This position is paid at a rate of $30/ hour by zelle payment. I am somewhat flexible on the tutoring time as long as it is after 2pm for this tutoring position. I would need at least 2xs/week. The start date is 11/12.
2) Calculus Statistics tutor- My daughter attends UCSD and her course is Math 11. This position pays $45/hr and by zelle. It is an elementary Statistics course based on probability and general statistics. You can also look at the coursework online. I am looking for someone who can be available startng at 7pm. Sorry. She is a night owl. On some days, tutoring can be a little earlier depending on her schedule. She would need 1-2xs/ week tutoring. You can speak with her and arrange the days and hours.
Both of these positions are based online. I do not need you to meet my children in person, so it is in the comfort of your preferred setting as long as the internet is strong.
I have owned a tutoring service before, so I do realize that sometimes the degree does not match how you teach and get through to the student. It is this belief that the interview process will be the following:
For both positions, you will be asked two questions and you will explain how to solve those problems to my children. I want to be able to see your teaching methods, since I believe some people are academic worms, but do not necessarily know how to teach. Interview process is also online and through zoom.
Teaching will be through zoom or if you do tutoring full-time, you can recommend another teaching platform.
Please attach your resume for my review or you can type a paragraph detailing your experience in tutoring and if you are tutoring full time. Thank you.
