How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)The Regional Security Manager (RSM),
based at Delta’s Hub airport in Los Angeles, CA (LAX) under the supervision of
the Manager Security Operations, is responsible for continuously monitoring potential
security vulnerability and implementing mitigation strategies at the LAX hub airport
and surrounding territory.Key
programmatic responsibilities include investigating criminal and company policy
“Rules of the Road” violations in addition to assessing, responding and
mitigating “Real Time" security related incidents and risks
to the operation, people, and assets. The LAX region includes
airports in Los Angeles and Western US.Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of alltasks):
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategiesfor TSA compliance failures, operational security events, and lossprevention activities. Calibrate risk classification as necessary throughcontinual analysis of security landscape.
Identify vulnerabilities and drive security initiatives toreduce exposure for public area security, suspicious activity, employees atrisk, executive protection, contraband prevention program, and humantrafficking prevention.
Evaluate incoming intelligence, evaluate potential securityrisk, and brief leadership as appropriate.
Develop and maintain direct relationships with airport authorities(LAWA), local/state and federal law enforcement, and regulatory agencies withinarea of responsibility (AOR), including responding to information requests andproviding testimony as required
Serve as a security subject matter expert at airport (LAWA)and government meetings.
Drive thorough investigations of security operations andcompliance incidents, including:
Cross divisional engagement with Delta frontline andcorporate leadership, as well coordinate with necessary law enforcementagencies
Lead interviews of involved parties
Prepare comprehensive investigative reports to DeltaLeadership and various departments
Partner with Delta security vendors and contractors toensure proper application and execution of TSA, Government, and Delta securitystandards through the development of Delta-specific Station Security BusinessPlans.
Participate in emergency responses and exercises within areaof responsibility (AOR).
Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operationalprocesses and procedures.
Must be performing satisfactorily in current position.
The starting pay range is $80,500.00 - $218,900.00 annually.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
BA or BS degree or minimum of fiveyears in aviation security, airport operations, law enforcement or similar workexperience required.
Existing or experience managing and fostering relationshipswith local, state and federal law enforcement within a large geographic area
Knowledge of Delta security practices and TSA, CBP, LAWA andother government agencies security regulations
A well-founded understanding of the wide array of historicaland current threats and associated risks to domestic aviation, as well ascreative measures to mitigate those threats and risks
Involvement in completing risk assessments and implementingmitigation strategies or countermeasures
Ability to travel to all Delta locations and support on-callrequirements in support of a 24 by 7 operation.
Must possess an exceptional ability to communicateinformation through oral and written means to all levels of leadership.
Must possess a high degree of self-discipline, initiative, and drive, and function well under budgetary, operational, and time constraintswith minimal oversight.
Experience working with working with highly sensitive andconfidential information and materials.
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self,others, and personal data.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
MA or MS degree or minimum of 10 years in aviation security,risk management, law enforcement or similar work experience.
Professional Certification or study within the areas of securitymanagement, investigations, risk management, homeland security or ER responsemanagement from an accredited school or organization.
Experience leading or directing risk assessments of criticalinfrastructure, call center, or hotel facilities and implementing mitigationstrategies to reduce employee and enterprise risk.
Working knowledge and experience with IATA's SecurityManagement System (SeMS), its functions and organizational benefits.
