Job Description

A small Pasadena full-service law firm specializing in U.S. immigration law seeks a professional, personable, and reliable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Receptionist / Legal Assistant.

Ideal position for a pre-law student looking to gain hands-on experience in a law office environment!

This position is on-site only and supports attorneys and legal assistants who primarily work remotely.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (20 hours per week);

A single candidate for the full 20 hours per week is preferred, but we are also open to a job-share structure between two part-time employees if schedules align.

Requirements:

High school or equivalent (minimum)

Fluent Spanish is required.

Excellent attention to detail

Capable of working on-site independently while supporting a mostly remote team

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

Strong customer service skills (1 year preferred)

Employment is contingent upon successful background check.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be highly self-motivated and will:

Be well-organized with strong attention to detail

Work well under pressure and tight deadlines

Possess excellent communication, customer service, and writing skills

Be dependable, punctual, and professional

Be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Maintain a friendly, respectful demeanor while interacting with clients and team members

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Handling incoming and outgoing mail

Compiling legal filings under the direction of an Attorney or Senior Legal Assistant

Assisting with administrative tasks and special projects assigned

Copying, scanning, organizing, and maintaining physical and digital files

Answering and routing phone calls; providing basic information to clients via phone and email

Scheduling appointments and reserving conference rooms as needed
