Description We are providing an opportunity in the Non-Profit industry based in Modesto, California, for an Accountant to join our team. The Accountant will be responsible for a variety of detailed technical accounting duties, processing payroll and accounts payable expenditures, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role offers a contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Perform technical accounting duties with meticulous attention to detail Process payroll and accounts payable expenditures in a timely and accurate manner Maintain and reconcile a variety of accounting and financial records, ensuring accuracy at all times Prepare and issue various accounting documents such as purchase orders and invoices Generate a variety of financial reports and statements as needed Assist in the development, monitoring, and amendment of Overall Work Program Budget Develop and maintain specialized spreadsheets and systems for recording and tracking cost element information for each program and project Prepare year-end entries and assist in the preparation of annual trial balance schedules for audit preparations and year-end adjustments Establish and maintain a variety of records and files including credit card, fixed assets, and inventory records Coordinate meetings and prepare supporting documentation for assigned committees Utilize skills in Bank Reconciliations, Microsoft Excel, and Administrative skills to effectively perform job duties. Requirements Candidate must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role within the non-profit sector Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations is necessary The applicant should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Strong administrative skills are required for the role The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are critical Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary Candidate must have strong organizational and time management skills Knowledge of accounting software and applications is a plus Experience with financial reporting and financial forecasting is preferred The applicant should be able to handle confidential information with discretion Knowledge of non-profit accounting regulations and standards is beneficial.
