Job Title: Analytical ScientistEssential Skills
Responsible for minimizing equipment downtime by assisting in instrument maintenance and repairs
Executing method development experiments in support of in house analytics projects
Perform data analysis and QA/QC checks of routine lab experiment data before communicating results to team members
Supporting analytical needs of other engineers/scientists at Brimstone
Demonstrating flexibility and a collaborative mindset by supporting team members with tasks and projects that may extend beyond primary job responsibilities, ensuring overall team success
Proficiency with data analysis using Excel, MatLab or JMP
Additional Skills & QualificationsFor this role, we’re looking for:
Analytical chemistry skills and an interest in equipment maintenance and repairs
BA/BS/AA in Chemistry or Biochemistry with prior experience working in an analytical lab
Strong problem solving skills
Effective time management and the ability to prioritize multiple projects at one time
Ability to lift 40 pounds
1-3 years of experience
Additional skills that are preferred but not required:
Knowledge of elemental analysis techniques (ICP-OES, XRF, XRD)
Sample preparation experience

The role involves using hand tools and machines for mounting, polishing, and saw cutting metal and alloy samples. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
