Do you have a passion for creating baked goods by hand from scratch? Scratch Bakery Cafe is currently interviewing for a full-time Cake Decorator/Dessert Maker. This position requires basic understanding of commercial baking methods and a MINIMUM of one year commercial cake decorating and baking is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform inventory of showcase cakes, cake slices, cupcakes, cake pop and seasonal items throughout the day.
Assemble, frost and finish cakes according to established standards and designs
Fill and dip cream puffs as necessary to maintain adequate supply on hand.
Make other desserts such as bread puddings and cheesecakes and fillings.
Stock showcases and retail areas with product using established inventory procedures.
Complete all orders on file and others received throughout the day.
Decorate cupcakes for daily retail as well as holidays and special events.
Perform daily and weekly inventory.
Keep area well organized and clean including drains, shelves, counter tops/work stations, windows, interior and exterior of refrigerators, microwaves and all tools and equipment used in performing duties.
Follows safety and security procedures.
Meets production standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned that may be outside of the normal scope of work based on business needs
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Minimum 1 year commercial cake decorating and general baking experience.
Must have a keen eye for decorating and be able to distinguish colors, shapes and textures.
Must have experience using required decorating tools.
Ability to move at a production rate of speed.
Strong manual dexterity.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of valid California Food Handlers or ServSafe card
Authorized to work in the United States on an unconditional basis.
Ability to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand up to 8 hours.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to reach with hand and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTS
Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to knives, ovens, mixers and other work aids necessary to perform job duties.
Frequent exposure for brief periods of time to 03 degrees Fahrenheit while handling products in the walk-in freezer.
Frequent exposure for brief periods of time to high heat radiating from commercial ovens when placing product in or removing after baking process.
Hands are frequently exposed to water and cleaning agents.
Exposure to moderate noise levels.
SCHEDULE
Wednesday through Sunday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Off Monday and Tuesday.
