Description As a Seasonal Tax Preparer, you will support our client in preparing individual and small business tax returns accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate has strong experience with tax preparation, a working knowledge of current tax laws, and a proven ability to meet deadlines. Familiarity and proficiency with Lacerte tax software is preferred to help ensure a smooth and productive season.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review a high volume of individual (1040) and small business (Schedule C, LLC) tax returns using Lacerte.
Identify potential tax credits and deductions to ensure clients pay accurate amounts and maximize their refunds.
Verify client information, gather and organize tax documents, and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
Communicate proactively with clients and internal team members to clarify data, request missing information, and keep stakeholders informed on progress.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance in all prepared returns before submission.
Follow up on any outstanding client issues or missing information promptly.
Adhere to strict confidentiality and data privacy standards in all client interactions.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent tax preparation experience, with demonstrated competency in individual and small business tax returns.
Software Skills: Proficiency with Lacerte tax software strongly preferred; familiarity with additional tax preparation tools is a plus.
Technical Knowledge: Up-to-date understanding of current tax laws and regulations, including recent changes and their implications on filings.
