Job Summary:The Vice President, Converged Data Platforms will be accountable for leading the Data and Analytic strategy for Kaiser Permanente including the development of advanced capabilities that will support the safe adoption of artificial intelligence, generative artificial intelligence, and ensure alignment with automation services. Collaborating with senior business and medical leaders across Kaiser Permanente, the Vice President, Converged Data Platforms is accountable for defining and executing on compelling vision and strategic for data and analytics, and platforms that enable artificial intelligence. This Vice President (VP), Converged Data Platforms is responsible for identifying and prioritizing investments to strengthen Kaiser Permanente-s data architecture foundation, enrichment, and analytical capabilities, as well as overseeing successful delivery of multiple complex investment programs. The position will report directly to the SVP, Chief Technology Officer, and applicants should have a proven track record of designing and delivering innovative data and advance analytics strategies for large and complex institutions. This position involves interaction with a wide range of key senior relationships across Kaiser Permanente. The VP must demonstrate strong executive presence and leadership, a strategic mindset that sets an aggressive but credible vision, organizational savvy to navigate and manage ambiguous and complex scenarios, deep technical knowledge of existing and emerging technologies, and ability to orchestrate and marshal resources (people, business relationships, funding, and vendors) to get things done. Essential Responsibilities:

Data & Analytics

Set the strategy, roadmap, and key milestones to define a strong data eco-system that delivers business value by innovative use of data, including:

Data architecture

Data Integration and Advance Analytics Solutions & Services

Analytics platforms, tools, architecture and engineering

Management of Data & Analytics Products

Data Stewardship, Data Analytics and Enablement, Data Science (AI/ML), and Data / AI Operations

Provide leadership and oversight to teams working with large data sets of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data to discover data insights and collaborate with business partners to deliver business value through these insights.

Leverage stakeholders- input (clinicians, physicians, business leaders and executives) and experiences to execute a data & analytics strategy to meet those needs.

Lead and govern teams to develop data analysis solutions based on predictive, behavioral, or other models using statistical analysis and relevant modeling techniques.

Steward business cases through KP-s investment governance processes, Portfolio Approval Councils (PAC), the Capital Approval Committee (CAC) and the Board of Directors (BOD), as appropriate

Ensure benefits realization and lessons learned are properly documented and integrated into subsequent planning cycles and activities.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

Minimum ten (10) years of IT, Healthcare or related experience

Minimum ten (10) years of data and analytics experience

Education

Bachelor-s Degree: (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or other quantitative disciplines)

License, Certification, Registration

Additional Requirements:

Extensive experience solving data & analytics problems using quantitative approaches and a proven passion for generating insights from data

Experience in leading teams to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources

Strong knowledge of statistical methods generally, and particularly in the areas of modeling and business analytics

Demonstrate ability to analyze and define business problems, provide predictive analysis, and identify appropriate business insights and solutions.

Ability to lead and prioritize business case development with measurable outcomes

Experience with managing an extensive budget and any associated risk for large programs

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including collaboration, facilitation and negotiation.

Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.

An ability to engage with vendors, if necessary, to evaluate third party solutions.

Demonstrate ability to 1) effectively work in an ambiguous environment, 2) effectively work in a cross-team environment and 3) succeed in a complex and dynamic work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in designing data insight solutions using technologies such as Hadoop/Hive, HBase, NoSQL, Netezza and working with statistical tools like SAS, R/Rapid Miner is preferred.

Master-s Degree preferred
