Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in REDONDO BEACH, California. This role is set within the corporate office and offers the chance to gain comprehensive accounting experience for small to medium businesses across multiple industries.Responsibilities: Managing and executing the full cycle of accounts payable, including invoice coding and posting, as well as check running and vendor communication. Overseeing accounts receivable duties such as billing, cash application, and collections. Handling cash management tasks which include depositing checks, tracking cash flow, and bank reconciliation. Administering company assets and calculating monthly depreciation as part of fixed assets management. Creating and posting journal entries, analyzing and reconciling accounts, and producing financial statements as part of general ledger management. Preparing various tax returns including property tax, 1099s, and Sales Tax. Utilizing Microsoft Excel extensively for various tasks such as creating and maintaining spreadsheets, formulating, sorting, formatting, linking, and printing. Balancing multiple projects simultaneously, managing priorities to complete assignments accurately and within deadlines. Communicating professionally with external customers, vendors, and all levels of internal staff in both written and verbal forms. Working independently and as part of a team to ensure smooth operations. Requirements Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is mandatory. Prior experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar is advantageous. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to ethical practices and adherence to company policies and standards. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.
