As a packaging supervisor for Artisan Bakers, the candidate will be responsible for supervising the packaging team. This individual must be passionate, committed, and dedicated to the quality of our product and the enrichment of our people. This position requires above average attention to detail, people skills, and the ability to quickly process information and act accordingly. This candidate will work closely with the Plant Manager and report directly to the Packaging Manager.
Objective:
Assist in all aspects of overseeing the packaging process and ensuring the highest standard of quality, timeliness, and cleanliness. This role is responsible for ensuring the frontline packaging team is correctly adhering to the specification of Artisan Bakers policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the packaging team accurately packages our high-quality products safely and hygienically.
Ensure the correct quantity of product is fulfil according to the planned requirements.
Minimize costs by proactively monitoring waste, packaging material, energy, water, and labor.
Maintain standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and good environmental practice by supervising the production staff and area.
Train and develop both departmental staff and potential supervisory staff to maintain a succession plan.
Create an elevated level of awareness of the requirement of the BRC audit.
Report all Health and Safety issues to the Safety Manager immediately.
Conduct regular meetings with the Packaging Manager to discuss KPI’s.
Ensure the correct procedures and work methods are being applied and the packaging paperwork is completed correctly.
Lead the shift by example. Setting high standards in all the above areas.
Communicating with all department leads and supervisors to ensure a cohesive team.
Be mindful and utilize the ability to work under pressure.
Maintain a positive attitude, be honest, neat and clean in appearance, punctual, take pride in your work, and collaborate with others.
Maximize the efficiency of the plant by immediately and formally reporting mechanical problems to the maintenance department.
Complete task as assigned by management
Use the listed specifications to determine the quality and quantity of the product being packaged.
Uphold standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and good environmental practice by utilizing the GMP training

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. An AA Degree or equivalent in a baking capacity is preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred.
Must possess the ability to meet deadlines.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. .
Must possess the ability to work under pressure.
Must possess a positive attitude, are honest, neat, and clean in appearance, punctual, take pride in their work, and are collaborators.
Must be willing to learn.
