Job description: We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Science Olympiad Coaches to inspire and mentor middle school students passionate about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). As a Science Olympiad Coach, you will play a vital role in preparing students for competitive science events by fostering curiosity, developing skills, and promoting teamwork. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with young learners, enhance your instructional expertise, and contribute to their academic growth in a dynamic environment.
Coaches needed for any of the following Science Olympiad Events:
Entomology, Water Quality, Hovercraft, Helicopter, Mission Possible, Rocks and Minerals, Scrambler, Crime Busters, Circuit Lab, Heredity, Codebusters
Responsibilities:
-Design and implement curriculum plans tailored to Science Olympiad event requirements or guide students through engineering projects.
-Mentor students in preparation for competitions by coaching them on problem-solving strategies, standardized testing techniques, and effective presentation skills.
Qualifications
-Experience working with students in classroom settings or tutoring environments is preferred.
-Strong background in any of the following STEM subjects: Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical), Physics, Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, and related fields.
-Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, instructional design, or construction and structural design.
-Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor students effectively while fostering a positive, supportive environment for diverse learners.
