Description Robert Half is looking for a meticulous and driven Staff Accountant to join our client’s team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for accounting professionals who are eager to apply their skills in a dynamic environment. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Maintenance: Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and aligned with accounting principles.

Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices and payments, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables. Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies.

Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded and any differences are promptly addressed.

Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide financial data and insights to support decision-making.

Month-End Close: Support the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy in financial records.

Expense Tracking: Monitor and track company expenses, ensuring they are properly categorized and within budget. Assist in preparing expense reports for management review.

Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all financial practices adhere to internal policies and external regulations. Maintain organized and accurate documentation for audit purposes.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase efficiency. Implement best practices to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2-4 years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of general accounting principles.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Microsoft Dynamics) and strong Excel skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-accounting staff.

A proactive attitude and a commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism.
