Job Title: CNC Mill Setup Operator
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Mill Setup Operator to join our manufacturing team. As a CNC Mill Setup Operator, you will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring the accurate and efficient machining of parts using CNC milling machines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality components, he will be working with minimal supervision and also must have their own tools.
Responsibilities:
1. Machine Setup and Operation:
Set up and operate Haas and Fadal CNC 3axis Vertical milling machines to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications.
Load raw materials into the machine and secure them properly.
Select and load appropriate cutting tools for each job per Setup sheet instructions.
Interpret and understand CNC programs using G and M codes to ensure accurate machining.
Set tool offsets and work offsets and edit programs as necessary for optimal efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process.
2. Quality Assurance:
Perform regular inspections of machined parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
Make necessary adjustments to tool and work offsets to maintain quality and tolerances.
3. Maintenance and Cleaning:
Conduct routine maintenance on CNC milling machines to ensure proper functionality.
Keep work area clean and organized.
4. Documentation:
Record production data as needed, including programming changes/edits, and inspection results.
Maintain accurate and organized records of completed jobs.
5. Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members, including machinists, engineers, and quality control, to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a CNC Mill Setup Operator.
Knowledge and understanding of CNC programming using G and M codes.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Ability to use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges etc…
Attention to Detail:
Keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to detect and address issues with precision.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in troubleshooting machine or program issues.
Communication Skills:
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and relay information about the machining process.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
Stamina and physical dexterity to stand for extended periods.
