Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Manager in San Francisco, California. The role involves managing payroll functions in our team, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and maintaining efficient payroll operations. The successful candidate will be expected to handle complex payroll inquiries, conduct audits, and guide the team to meet schedules and performance requirements.Responsibilities: Administer efficient payroll operations and organize staff to ensure optimal productivity. Ensure compliance with government payroll and tax requirements, and stay updated with current changes in these areas. Evaluate and audit processes for compliance, and implement necessary changes. Resolve incoming tax notices from various agencies by researching and determining the root cause. Analyze diverse issues, requiring evaluation of a variety of factors, including current business trends. Adhere to operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements. Prepare post payroll audits and reports, track errors using technology and reporting tools. Lead internal or external audits and review of records, tax filings, and other relevant documentation. Evaluate federal, state, and local wage and hour rules, and their impacts on executive compensation. Collaborate closely with organizational partners for accurate GL and tax reporting. Respond to complex payroll related inquiries from employees and key stakeholders. Conduct in-depth analysis to produce complex reports. Guide transitions in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Communicate effectively with various levels of management to ensure high level of customer support and positive customer interactions. Develop, maintain, and improve payroll and employment tax processes, and internal controls to preserve the quality and efficiency of all payroll functions while ensuring regulatory compliance. Manage vendors and system providers, including compliance with service level agreements. Manage, coach, and develop team members and conduct ongoing training for payroll staff to ensure productivity and knowledge of overall processes are maintained and improved. Requirements Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Payroll Manager. Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is necessary for this role. Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is expected. Experience with ADP Workforce Now will be considered an advantage. Knowledge of Ceridian software is a crucial requirement for this position. Experience in Concur software is highly desirable. Should have experience in 401k - RRSP Administration. Familiarity with About Time software is an added advantage. Proficiency in Accounting Functions is necessary. Auditing skills are a must for this role.
