Job Title: PhlebotomistJob DescriptionThe phlebotomist will be stationed in the outpatient lab at the hospital. The role involves collecting blood specimens, as well as receiving, handling, and processing specimens for laboratory testing. The phlebotomist interacts with patients of diverse ages, backgrounds, values, beliefs, and behaviors. Additional responsibilities include receiving, sorting, and accessioning specimens, assigning them to the appropriate pre-analytic and analytic workflow. The position also involves completing computerized tasks related to patient registration and/or test order entry, specimen collection, receiving and processing, performing basic post-analytic tasks such as distributing reports, storing and/or retrieving specimens, and completing quality-related tasks such as documentation of work, maintaining a clean, stocked, and safe work area, and monitoring pending work, as well as escalating priority work. The phlebotomist will operate and/or use basic pre-analytic lab equipment.Hard Skills

CPT-1 certification
