OverviewElement has a current opening for a Metals Preparation Technician to join our growing lab in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The primary function of the Metals Preparation Technician is to safely perform preparations of various materials for analysis by ICPMS or ICP. Documentation of all proseses is required along with strictly following established SOPs, Client methods, or pharmacopeia methods. Work is to be performed in accordance with established QA procedures and in full compliance with cGMP.Responsibilities
Safely operate and maintain our microwaves, hotblocks, balances, and any other equipment required to perform your duties
Read and understand all SDSs before starting any work
Make sure all data is complete, legible, defensible, filed properly, and all signatures are recorded
Follow all pertinent SOPs, QC requirements, and QA manual at all times
Determine if problems exist concerning sample prep, compliance with cGMP, or Client requests. Immediately notify appropriate personnel to determine how to proceed with the project, minimizing lost time. Open NCR if required
Assist Group Leader and IT on any updates or revisions to needed software
Skills / Qualifications
College degree in a science or equivalent experience. Some experience in sample prep preferred
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, customer testing specifications, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to perform complex calculations such as RPD, dilutions, mixed standards, etc
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, data and details furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
