Flexible, 10-20 hours for one on one helper/mentor for outgoing 9 year old boy with chronic autoimmune condition. Job focus is primarily social, emotional connection with this young boy to provide positive role modeling and companionship. This job is perfect for college or grad student and hours could work around course schedule. For example, hours that include 2-3 afternoons from 2:30 until 6, and availability on a weekend day would be ideal.
Primary duties include walks, bike riding, soccer and basket ball play, art projects, homework help, Lego building, and games. Trips to library and airplane museum or the like would be a plus. The goal of these activities would be to build social skills and rapport with you, the helper.
Looking for an active and patient person willing to be a special person for this youngster. Experience with children and coursework or internships in psychology, child development would be ideal.
