About the position:

Nisei is looking for individuals that are highly motivated, possess a positive attitude, dedicated to the hospitality industry, humble, team players, a desire to learn, respectful and honest. Candidates should come with first hand experience leading and guiding a Front of House Team towards higher levels of service while also maximizing our sales each night.

Nisei is looking for a General Manager who ideally has Michelin level experience in service, possesses wine & sake knowledge with some level of certification in either, and is familiar with administrative back end tasks for operating a restaurant. Prospective hires must have a minimum of 5 years hospitality experience and 2 years of management experience.

About Nisei:

Restaurant Nisei is the premier fine dining Californian Japanese establishment in San Francisco. Started in 2019 as a pop-up, Nisei has evolved over several years before establishing its home in Russian hill at the previous La Folie restaurant. The format of the menu will be a tasting menu and the style of cuisine can be described as modern innovative take on Japanese American cuisine with a base in Washoku (Japanese home-cooking). Owner David Yoshimura (Californios, Ishikawa, WD50) is also a certified Sommelier and stresses the importance of being a well-rounded hospitality professional through hands on mentorship for each employee.

Next door, Nisei also owns a craft cocktail bar named Iris, which boasts an impressive cocktail program.
