Key Job Responsibilities:
Ensures the safe operation of an automatic Horizontal band saw, Vertical Bandsaw, Abrasive Cutoff Saw, and Cold Saw.
Cuts Steel, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Brass, and Copper stock to correct length and measurements.
Reads and interprets basic blueprints, shop drawings, sketches and work orders.
Maintains equipment and ensures work area is clean and safe at all times.
Performs basic preventative maintenance on saw equipment.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Works to a daily Production Schedule
Effectively and safely operate a variety of assigned hand tools and other processing equipment.
Understand and follow oral and written directions; communicate effectively.
Working independently
Additional Responsibilities:
Unload raw materials from semi-trucks and store material.
Maintains proper inventory levels of materials & works with purchasing to order materials daily
Completes Month End Inventory of all Tubing, Bar, Angle, Extrusion, and other stock.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Materials - Steel, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Brass, and Copper
Trade tools, equipment, materials, Calipers, tape measure, methods and techniques used in safe band saw operation.
Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
ABILITY TO:
Maintain routine records.
Operate a forklift (Certification will be provided)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds
Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate; experience using a band saw
