The Snow Leopard Conservancy (SLC) is a 501(c)(3) organization based in San Francisco, California, dedicated to advancing community-driven stewardship of the snow leopard through education, research, and grassroots conservation action. This is a full time exempt position targeted at a candidate that is passionate about wildlife conservation and has prior experience in a nonprofit organization. The position will be managing SLC’s individual giving programs and the organization’s day to day operations.
Time: 40 hours per week
Salary: Range is $65,000 - $70,000, based on qualifications and experience
Work Location: Hybrid between remote and office (in San Francisco, CA) with 1-2 days in office per week
Schedule: Monday – Friday, with some flexibility required for planned weekend/evening events and travel
Position reports to: Executive Director (ED)

Position Expectations and Requirements:
● Required Qualifications:
○ Strong alignment with SLC’s core values.
○ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
○ Minimum 2-3 years of experience in nonprofit management, with a focus on development.
○ Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
○ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
● Preferred Qualifications:
○ Experience with donor databases (e.g., Salesforce, Apsona).
○ Proficiency in digital marketing tools (e.g., Donorbox, Canva).
○ Knowledge of nonprofit compliance and regulations.
● Core Competencies:

○ Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
○ Enthusiasm for community-driven conservation and wildlife protection.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned or required:
I. Development Management Activities (60%) 1
● Drive donor relations, cultivating individual donors, and managing Salesforce donor database, including analyzing fundraising data.
● Process donations and create acknowledgment letters for donors, mail and e-file copies of letters (experience with Apsona / mail merge preferred).
● Create donor contribution reports for annual reports, tax filings, board meetings, and planning.
● Coordinate internal and external communications and publications, assisting with the development of digital marketing materials and program content (e.g., press releases, stories, blogs) for e-news, social media and website.
● Support ED in planning and implementing philanthropic events (e.g. donor meetings, fundraising and outreach events).
● Update fundraising platforms (e.g., Candid, Charity Navigator) annually to ensure the highest level of fiscal transparency.
● Supports ED in developing and implementing the annual fundraising strategic plan and budget.
● Perform other duties as assigned to support SLC’s development goals.
II. Operational Management Activities (40%)
● Coordinate day to day staff/consultant operations and board communications including scheduling, minute-taking, and task management.
● Monitor incoming calls and messages, invoices, nonprofit compliance documents, and grant disbursements - coordinating authorization and payments.
● Prepare for board meetings by coordinating agendas and filing meeting minutes and documents.
● Manage and improve electronic filing systems and ensure compliance with SLC’s Retention Policy and transition to fully cloud-based data storage management.
● Assist with updating employee policies and procedures and onboarding new team members.
● Support ED in consultant and vendor contract renewals
● Collaborate with the accounting team on tax filings and review 501c(3) requirements under CA and federal law to ensure compliance on updates in policy.
● Volunteer management - coordinate volunteers for events and operational-related tasks and maintain tracking of volunteer hours.
● Lead software integrations to improve operational efficiency.
● Monitor and order office supplies, maintain staff equipment inventory including our storage unit in Novato and shared office space in San Francisco.
