Mile Limit is a boutique wine shop in Berkeley specializing in small producers, unique bottles, and wines with a story. We offer a relaxed, music-filled atmosphere where guests can explore our curated selection and learn about winemakers from around the world.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated person to join our team in a hybrid retail and administrative role. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both independent computer work and occasional customer interaction. While retail traffic is light, there will be plenty to do behind the scenes to help keep our wine program organized and efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers with wine selections when they visit the shop.
- Conduct inventory checks and maintain accurate stock records.
- Research wine descriptions and organize tasting notes into an in-store binder.
- Update and maintain spreadsheets for wine lists, pricing, and inventory.
- Help organize wine displays and backstock.
- Support light administrative tasks as needed, including data entry and organizing vendor information.
- Maintain a tidy, welcoming retail environment.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and computer skills (Google Sheets or Excel experience preferred).
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to stay productive during slower retail hours.
- Excellent attention to detail and written communication.
- Interest or passion for wine is a big plus — but curiosity and willingness to learn are just as important!
- Previous retail or administrative experience is helpful but not required.
