Job Title: Technical Support / Customer Service (Software-Focused)
Vetel Diagnostics, a local technology company serving the veterinary medical market, is seeking a technically capable and detail-oriented team member to join our growing support and service team at our San Luis Obispo office.
About the Role
This position supports customers using Windows-based diagnostic and imaging systems in veterinary practices. While this is not a software development role, it does require strong software understanding and the ability to automate, configure, and troubleshoot complex systems.
We are specifically looking for someone who:
- Understands how software is built, installed, configured, and maintained
- Can write scripts or automated workflows that combine multiple software and system settings into single-action solutions
- Is comfortable working at the intersection of software, operating systems, networking, and hardware
- Has some understanding of electronics
- Has a love for animals and their well-being
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Software Support
- Provide customer support for Windows-based medical diagnostic systems
- Troubleshoot operating system, software, networking, and hardware issues
- Configure and optimize system settings for medical imaging and diagnostic workflows
- Create and maintain scripts or automated procedures to streamline setup and troubleshooting
- Understand software dependencies, permissions, services, drivers, and update processes
- Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve software-related issues
- Assemble and QC our imaging products and devices
Customer Support & Administration
- Answer incoming support calls and triage technical issues
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding system status and resolutions
- Manage customer records and service tickets. Attention to documentation
- Assist with service scheduling, RMAs, quotes, purchase orders, shipping, and receiving
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems
- Working knowledge of PC hardware, diagnostics, and networking
- Ability to think logically about software behavior and system interactions
- Experience creating or modifying scripts or automated workflows
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
